Taiwan

In Taiwan, we provide diversity volunteer service for social vulnerability (including children and the elder), students, and aboriginal people. Painting community, training for college students, holding volunteer activities in festival holidays for the elder people, and holding summer camps for children and children drama are now what the service we do in Taiwan.

The Peanut Theatrical Company, PTC, was established many years ago.  It always provides many opportunities for the youth to perform drama plays on stage.  The youth can practice their leadership skills and develop self-confidence on the stage even though most of them are not professional actors or actresses.  What is more, all the plays held by PTC are for non-profit purposes whcih means the drama plays are free for all citizens, especially for children from deprived families.  As the non-profit concept is truly consistent with TWYVA's service goals,  it's our honour to cooperate with PTC to hold free drama plays each year...

As you may know, TWYVA helps many schools in northern Thailand and Sri Lanka with a painting service for their campuses.  But, actually, TWYVA has provided community painting volunteer service for more than 10 years.  To review our history of painting service: when Kaohsiung City hosted the World Games in 2009, TWYVA & KGSPA (the Kaohsiung Game-Show Production Association) held painting volunteer activities in 2007 and 2008 on the wall of Kai-Xuan road in Kaohsiung, recruiting almost 1,000 volunteers to help promotion of World Games 2009 in Kaohsiung.

TWYVA irregularly holds leadership training courses for college students.  We all know that the youth are the future of our society.  Only the well-trained and educated youth will make our society better.  Besides, students not only need to learn knowledge from their colleges, but they should also learn other skills as much as possible, for instance, social ability and team work, as possible as they can.  So, TWYVA is devoted to providing diverse training courses, such as wilderness survival skills, drama acting, rock climbing, rappelling, funny games, activity designing and general planning, etc.  For many years...

No matter whether it is Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, Moon Festival, or Christmas holidays, these are always the best times for family reunions.  However, disadvantaged people, such as elders with no relatives and orphans, may not have an opportunity for family reunions.  Therefore, TWYVA usually cooperates with some organizations to hold some activities before some festivals...

We all know that college students always anticipate the coming summer and winter vacations.  To give college students special vacation activities, TWYVA cooperates with KGSPA, the Kaohsiung Game-Show Production Association, to hold summer camps for the elementary school students each year.  TWYVA & KGSPA recruit college students as the camp staffs and assistants.  All the recruited college students will learn how to prepare all the camp courses, how to teach campers to overcome challenges, and how to get alone well with the campers.  Within 3-days of camp life...
